Annick Goutal, in her short life has created fascinating perfumes also loved by famous people such as Madonna, Prince, Lady Diana. This legacy has been lovingly continued by his daughter Camille Goutal and Isabelle Doyen, famous "nose" and former collaborator of Annick Goutal.
Annick was born in 1945 in Aix-en-Provence, in the south of France, she is the third of eight children. Her first talent is for music, she begins to learn to play the piano at the age of 5 and, later, she excels at the Paris Conservatory, but considering her life too demanding, she decides to change her life at the age of twenty. . She moved to London where she babysat, but is noticed by photographer David Balley, who, impressed by her beauty, introduces her to the world of fashion. The model life takes her to Paris and Milan. But she doesn't like this life, so she returns to live in France and, driven by a love for art and antique furniture, she opens an antiques shop in Paris, which she calls “Folavril”. In 1976, while helping her godmother, Micheline Perrault, to make cosmetics and skin creams, Annick met perfumer Henri Sorsana, of the Robertet fragrance company in Grasse. He thus discovers that he has a natural talent for creating perfumes and decides to work in this company for the time necessary to develop knowledge on raw materials, the formulas to create a perfume and the vocabulary to use. In 1980 he opened his first perfume and face cream boutique on Rue de Bellechasse in Paris and created his first perfume “Folavril”, named after his antique shop. It is an unusual fragrance, with tomato, jasmine and mango leaves, with an earthy, spicy and oriental flavor. In 1981 it was the turn of “Eau d'Hadrien”, still today one of the maison's best-sellers, inspired by the book “The memories of Adriano” by Marguerite Yourcenar. In 1985 the collaboration with Isabelle Doyen begins, the brand is bought by the Tattening Company which brings the brand to be known in the world. Unfortunately, in 1988 she was diagnosed with breast cancer and could not work for a period, she returned to do so in 1992 and created fragrances such as Grand Amour, Eau du Sud, Petite Cherie. In 1999, a few months before her death, her latest fragrance was born: “Ce soir ou jamais”, which contains everything Annick has learned in life: beauty, passion, love, loss. In 19 years he has created 25 pofumi. In September 1999, Camille takes over the company and carries on the universe that reflects her mother: refinement, femininity, passion.
