Molinard's story begins in 1849 in Grasse, the World Capital of Perfumes. Between sea and mountain, Grasse has an extraordinary geographical position and an incomparable climate, which predispose its land to the cultivation of fragrant flowers. In 1849 the chemist Hyacinthe Molinard opens his boutique in Grasse, where he sells eau de parfums and colognes of his own production. In 1861 Queen Victoria of England, on a visit to Grasse, became a regular client. In 1900 Molinard built the new headquarters with the collaboration of Gustave Eiffel. In 1921 he launched the extraordinary and inimitable Habanita perfume. In 1930 he collaborated with the great glass masters including Lalique and Baccarat who made splendid crystal bottles for the maison. In 1949 Molinard turns 100 and the headquarters is transformed into a Perfumery Museum, where even today you can admire the ancient bottles that contain the most famous creations. Bold and legendary, Molinard has established itself in the pantheon of the greatest names in French perfumery and has been awarded the highest recognition: the "Enterprise du Patrimone vivant", in homage to its rare and ancient savoir-faire. Currently at the head of the house is Célio Le Rouge-Bérnard, 5th generation of Molinard perfumers.
