William Henry Penhaligon, founder of the brand, created this fragrance in honor of the Duke of Malborough, a great English leader who in 1704 defeated the French at the Battle of Blenheim. As a reward, Queen Anne gave the duke the splendid Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire. The descendants of the Duke, still owners of Blenheim Palace, were always proud of this fragrance and Sir Winston Churchill continued to use this perfume with great pride in memory of the greatness of his ancestors. Famous and in demand since the Edwardian era, this refined and dry fragrance is a great classic that expertly mixes notes of herbs and citrus with a slight hint of wood. A discreet yet penetrating fragrance that gives an unparalleled sensation of freshness.
